Japanese Teenage Girls?

I am quite curious whether Japanese college girls in Japan are expected to always put make-up on in school? I mean, is putting make-up on expected of girls/common thing among college girls?

Basically no. Or in other words, there are groups of girls who prefer make-up and there are those who don't.

When you're out of college and start working in an office, make-up is expected, but that is not the case when you're still a young student. College is the time when girls here have most freedom as far as fashion is concerned.
