Christmas Hamper/Alcohol Delivery 2011/12/14 16:19
Hi, could anyone recommend me a good hotel cake shop(besides Mandarin Oriental Tokyo) or any good stores within Tokyo that sells Christmas hampers or do alcohol deliveries within Tokyo?

Thanks.

National Azabu does delivery and has a pretty picture of a wine basket on this page:

Nissin might, you may want to contact them but they have a very extensive wine selection:

There's a huge list of bakeries on sunnypages but not sure if they're in hotels or not, never been to a hotel cake place.

National Azabu closed in late October.

National Azabu is still open, just NOT in Hiroo which was the largest location and closest to Roppongi, where a lot of expats live. They are in Den-en.

See direct quote from facebook website about delivery: National Azabu
Due to the demolition of the old National Azabu building, the Annex will be relocating across the street next door to Starbucks. The Annex will be open until December 18th, close on the 19th (Monday) and will reopen on December 20th as National Azabu Mini.
Just a reminder if you live in the National Azabu delivery area and order groceries over 5,000 yen our sister store National Den-en will deliver. For more information please call 033-442-3186 in English/Japanese

Nitpicky, but National Azabu is closed, although their sister shop National Den-en in suburban Denenchofu is still open.

More to the point, National Den-en isn't in central Tokyo, so I wouldn't really recommend it for what the OP is looking for - I think pretty much any department store would be far more convenient.

Thanks for the recommendations. As long as any of those places accept payment tru the phone/has a website then all is well for I'm not in Japan but planning to get these for relatives/friends there.

Good point Umami, I didn't think about it not being in central Tokyo. Den-en still delivers though, which might help if the OP can't find anything else.

Yes, you're right that they do deliver (at least to some of central Tokyo), so if OP is ordering from abroad I guess location doesn't matter as much.

Coincidentally I just went to National Den-en yesterday for the first time, and probably the last, since it's so inconveniently located. I was a little disappointed that the wine selection is smaller than Hiroo was, and nowhere near as good as Nissin; for ordering just wine I'd probably try Nissin first and maybe National as a backup plan.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a Christmas hamper in Tokyo. If such a thing does exist, however, the best place to look would probably be Isetan or Takashimaya, both of which should be well set up to handle phone/internet orders and deliver nationwide.
