good restaurants in tokyo for couples

Hello,

I'm planning to visit Tokyo, and would like to book a good restaurant for 24th or 25th Dec, with my partner.

Is there a romantic place to be, or just excellent food?

I don't mind how much it cost, i just want a great place for me and her.

Recommendations?

I consider SARYO a romantic restaurant. My wife and I went at lunch time and they have a very nice "Bento" lunch for just under Y2000.

It is hard to find and book a nice place for 24 and 25 for dinner. Most or all of such nice restaurants start taking seat reservations one month advance. Probably 25th at a Japanese restaurant where has less X'mas atmosphere is easier to find. I would suggest you ask your hotel to book a nice Japanese restaurant nearby on 25th.

'Shinohara' in Setagaya is a nice place for good Japanese foods.

But both are a little away from the central Tokyo.

You can search by type of cuisine or area. When you click on the restaurant you'll see something that says:

Occasion: ____________________.

Under "Occasion" You'll see a variety of descriptions, usually "good for groups" "good for dates" "good for being alone" "business."

They have everything from 500 meals to Michelin star restaurants.

I second Ukai Toriyama (Hacjijoji - western Tokyo outskirts) check out the website in English for great pictures.
Took the family there last year during Cherry Blossom season and it was absolutely stunning. It's a bit of a hike to get there without a car though. Basically about 20 small dining 'huts' scattered throughout a large, stunning Japanese Garden with a stream flowing thorugh the middle. Great experience. (There are other Ukai restaurants closer/in Tokyo, one adjacent to Tokyo Tower with a small garden and specialising in tofu)

500 yen meals! Not 500! Heh.
