Can i bring coffee to japan 2012/4/16 04:28
Will customs allow me to bring coffee to japan?

Do i need to declare i am bringing it in the form before entering customs?

I would bring maybe 3 kg

Thanks!

Yes, you can bring coffee. You don't have to declare it unless it costs more than 10,000 yen, but even then it should be duty free.

You still have to write in on your customs form on the back though, they ask if you have any food items so on the back you write down any food items so you write coffee beans/ground & how much it cost, you do not get dutied for it though, but they just want to know what type of food classified items you have.
