I am travelling to Tokyo on 12th October on a very tight schedule. It is possible to get the Ghibli Museum ticket on the day that I arrived (that is 12th October?)
I am from Malaysia and there is no agent selling the ticket in Malaysia. Is there anyway to book the ticket in advanced? Need help! Thanks

Mail order:Phone, fax, or e-mail desired admission date and required information (name / nationality / adress / telephone No. / passport No.) for all visitors, and credit card information to travel agency. Ticket and handling fee will be charged to credit card, and voucher will be sent by mail. Try here: http://www.jtbgmt.com/eng/ghibli/TicketSystem.html#Purchase

You will not be able to buy the ticket on the day you plan to visit the Museum as they will be sold out. The tickets are usually being sold 1 month in advanced (e.g. tickets for September are being sold since 12th of August or so, this is 1st hand information as I went to buy some myself). Check the Museum English website, there was a link for visitors from abroad who would like to purchase a ticket in advance.

That's odd - JTB Australia sold the Ghibli tickets in advance. Malaysian JTB must be different. Buying our tickets through JTB meant we could just enter Ghibli at anytime on the day wheras from what I heard Lawson tickets give you a specified time. Perhaps this has changed?

If you take a look at the link liem provided it shows that Australia JTB are in the pool to allocate tickets. Malaysia JTB is not.

U can send a mail request to JTB Hong Kong. I'm from Singapore and the JTB office also do not help to reserve tickets for Studio Ghibli, only selling the tours. JTB Hong Kong should be nice enough to reserve tickets on your behalf...they did for me a few years ago... :)

For info, tried contacting JTB Hong Kong. They only sell the tickets to Hong Kong residents. No luck.

Jayswy, I'm sure u planned a few days out for tokyo....so I would suggest u schedule your F&E activities around different days, make it flexible. Then first thing when u hit tokyo or japan, go to any Lawson's and use their computerized system to book the tickets to Studio Ghibli. It's completely in Japanese (unless it's been upgraded now) but u can request the shop assistant to help u...they are usually very friendly and know what u needed if u express yourself figuratively :)
Alternatively, u can approach an JTB booth in japan to buy coupon for Studio Ghibli too....

I am from Malaysia too and planning to go on Nov. From all the research that I have done plus asking some friends at Tokyo, there isn't any convenient way for you to get the ticket at Malaysia. Your only chance is to purchase the ticket at Japan. Convenience shop such as Lawson will have a ticket vending machine for Museum Ghibli. Higher chance to get the ticket if you choose a weekdays to go. But if you choose weekend, then you better give up and plan for something else....
