About Komeda
http://nagoya-info.com/3195/komeda/
Not a coffee shop, but the chain store I like is Mos Burger and Freshness Burger.
This is called Mister Donut's also free hot cafe au lait and hot coffee refill.
In addition, I also like Motoya Express on the second floor Bunkyodo bookstore in Shibuya. (However, there are always crowded)
The price is high, but is in the Daimaru department store in Tokyo Station Inoda coffee of coffee shop in Kyoto, I like this place.
When it is store of tea, afternoon tea room is also good.
(Audience of women is often)
The Wired cafe, where I feel like could use the wifi is.

I'll second the recommendation for Inoda coffee. Their Higahiyama location is a gem - http://whiterabbitchase.com/1410/inoda-coffee-kiyomizu/

ChicagoMike,

I am not asking it for breakfast. I just want a nice cup of strong freshly brewed coffee from the beans in the afternoon break between walks and the same time to rest my legs. I don't mind non-chain cafes as long as the coffee is good. Being Japan, I am confident all cafes will have good design or ambience but I am not sure on their coffee. I don't know about Starbucks quality in America, but in Malaysia, we don't call their coffee as coffee. We call theirs cafeinated water because it's very light.

Hmm, I'm not familiar with Malaysian coffee, but I've never heard an American complain that Starbucks is too weak. It's always the opposite. Perhaps Starbucks in Malaysia is different - I don't know.

Generally speaking, Japanese coffee is about the same as Starbucks, or lighter.
