Confused ???
|

|
|
Tks...Just kinda of worried. As i estimated that the monthly rental for average houses outskirt is about Yen100,000. Utilities bill is about Yen15,000. Monthly eating for 2 person is about Yen1000 X 2 persons X 30 days = Yen60,000 monthly. Monthly grocies is estimated Yen30,000. Transporation for 2 persons is about Yen400,000 monthly. Thus, total basic living is over Yen600,000. This is already over the monthly salary. Or maybe my calcualtion is wrong. PLs advise. Thanks.

KB,
Where will you be commuting to that costs 400,000 yen a month? Maybe you should be looking for somewhere closer to your workplace.

Wrong calculation

You made a wrong calcuation.
Transporation for 2 persons is about Yen400,000 monthly
How far do you plan to live out from your work for your commuter pass to be 200,000yen a person?????
I assume you mean 20,000 (better recalculate now).
Another item to mention is your commuter pass might be in the lines of 10,000-15,000.
Is your wife working? If not I don't see why she needs a commuter pass for herself to travel back and forth each day.

Ha.. it is just estimation with some provision.... maybe it should be lesser. Grin
That is a totally off estimation if you live in the outskirts of Tokyo and plan to commute into Central Tokyo.
TOTALLY OFF.

Unless it was not factored into your utilities.
Other bills can include:
-Telephone (home or cellphone) bills. -Internet connection (if you get one) -Television (if you get say cable or satellite)
Presumably you'll need to purchase furnature too?
-What about things such as, shaving cream, razors, toothpaste or whatever General Mens products for you, and women items for your wife. Have you budgeted extra funds for these? It doesn't neccessarily have to be permonth, but certainly along the line you'll need to get items or refill them.

KB,
Boy, for 1000 en you can buy 2 chicken legs, chips and drink in McDonalds or go to ramen shop and get a bowl of watery soup. How are you going to survive on 1000 per day ?

You can survive on 1000Yen for food per day, but you prob won't get any breakfast or enough nutrients.
Yoshinoya normal bowl of Beef rice is only what - 380yen?
Drinks are around 120Yen per bottle.
It all very tight though. 300,000 or 350,000 Yen for two people in Japan! Unless you go there carrying some previously saved cash, its actually not a very smart idea!
As for rental, if you live in one of those Guesthouses, 1 room for 2 people, I think it'll work out to be roughly 90,000-100,000 Yen per month. But showers will be 100Yen each time. Internet access - most have 1 computer or wi-fi access.
Your wife - I wonder if they're allowed to do part time jobs on the spouse dependent visa? It'll help out a lot.

Sandesh, I beleive house rent will be provided then I think it is OK salary to start with. I also assume you are not in Tokyo but near to Yokohama or Atsugi area. 200,000 should be OK to start with but it really depend on your habits outside. Good luck. I now you will find you way. One can also stay wtih 100,000 salary w/ house.
