I've been in the UK for four years and I've never seen adult males here hold hands ever. I've also been to France and Germany and didn't see adult males hold hands either.
My Chinese friends here in the UK seem to be very affectionate, females I don't know that well clasp my hands.
Would linking arms with a woman be a bad thing in Japan? I see it in the UK sometimes among women (not lesbians).
