Even though his skin color changed, MJ was still a black man.
Same goes for the OP. Even if they have a hundred plastic surgeries, it still won't make them Japanese.

You can have surgery and LOOK Japanese. But being Japanese means more than looks.
I know some Americans who have lived in Japan all their life and act more Japanese than an ethnically born Japanese. In my eyes, they are Japanese.
I have seen Japanese kids born in america who don't speak Japanese, never been to Japan and don't know anything about Japan. To me they are American.
Well, this is just my opinion :)
