Naturalization in 2022

I guess it's because my application was pretty straighforward. Single, full-time employee at a company with no debts, criminal record, etc. Nothing much to check really haha.

Question to all who have been approved.
Did you have to renounce to your nationality before the call / kanpo publication of after ?
I read many stories here and there and it seems that everyone has a different experience so I can't figure how it's going to be for me (if they approve me of course).

My final interview is tomorrow and I'm so excited for it.

It depends on where you're from. Some countries allow their citizens to become stateless, and if you're currently a citizen of such a country, you'll have to renounce your current citizenship first. Otherwise, you'll have to renounce your current citizenship once you're granted citizenship in Japan.

I'd add that if you come from a country that doesn't allow you to give up citizenship, you still can naturalize and keep both citizenships. But you need to submit the choosing citizenship form (�‘�БI‘ð“Í) to the your city hall.

In all cases, listen to and follow instructions of your case officer who will guide based on your own situation.

I'll just wait and see how it's going to be for me.

My interview was today early afternoon and it went well, lasting for about 20 minutes. My caseworker said as everything is ok he will push my application so the results will arrive earlier than my due date (I'm pregnant with twins right now ).

I'm a little confused about the date of your interview. Is it mid-May 2022 or 2023?

A fast timeline isn't "impressive".
Timeline (results) ALSO depends of the number of applications. Ministry reviews applications in date order. If you applied when there was few applications the result may come faster.

hi everyone, I wonder anyone waitting for answer more then 14 months from the application?
i submitted application july 22 interview oct 22 since aditional documents request May23 since then its just in waitting,, already 14th months
no mejor issues with application , i wonder how long it takes

Hi Nosh. I am an Indian national. Own my business from last 12 years my wife and Kidds already received their Japanese citizenship
Additional documents was last May,just driving licence records which is gold. I think mostly all tax documents are very clean. But my part I travel a lot due to my business. I think that is the only draw back I applied in chiba,

If you dont surpass the limit, i wonder why it would be a problem? The criteria is a mystery

no i didnt got any call any msg its already 17 mnths nothing ... no idea what to do or not... is anyone there who waits so long??

Hello Beek, i called and ask because it is really very slow. I'm also waiting 17+months, the person told me it can take up to 1 year from interview, but other than that i did not receive any information. If you work other than seishain they are also more slow, there is nothing much we can do sadly. Please update if you get approval, hope we will get results soon

in our case if we wait a long more than a year, then what wiill be the result positive or negative ..what is ur opinion in such a case?? is anybody here who got the positive result after waiting a long more than 1.5 year ?? i dont knw but i am losing the hope nowadays.
