There are four different postal codes for neighborhoods starting with Azabu in Tokyo's Minato-ku:

106-0041 for Azabu-dai
106-0042 for Azabu-mamianacho
106-0043 for Azabu-nagasakacho
106-0045 for Azabu-chuban

The postal code for Fujisawa-shi Fujisawa is 251-0052.

need help with address 2007/11/3 01:35
Hi everyone, this is probably the only place I could get some help... Thank you in advance!

My friend, who just recently moved to Japan, gave me this address which I tried to fit into amazon.co.jp to ship a gift. However, no matter how I look at it, I can't tell if it's complete.

- C/O John Doe
- Sokacity Takasago X-X
- Saitama, Japan

the best of my ability (and searching this forum), I figure out these...

- Name: C/O John Doe
- Address 1: Soka-shi Takasa-go X-X
- Address 2:
- City: Soka-shi
- prefecture (“s“¹•{Œ§): Saitama
- postal code:
- country: Japan

Could someone help me with this? I am also trying to find the postal code... ^^;;;;

Thank you very much!

Address/postal code 2007/11/3 08:41
William,

The order is a bit mixed up, but it basically looks OK.
In romanized form, I suggest you write it as follows...

C/O John Doe
X-X Takasago,
Soka-shi,
Saitama-ken 340-0015
Japan

thanks Dave! 2007/11/4 06:03
Dave,

thank you so much for the help! :D Now the address makes much more sense.

I just have 2 more question, if that's okay with you.

1) is it normal to have address in many different ''-''? The address he sendme has ''x-x-x-x takasago'' four set of numbers.
2) for amazon.co.jp addresses, is it better to enter kanji address for Japan addresses or romaji is okay?

thank you so much for helping me with the address!

re:William 2007/11/4 06:29
Hi

1)X-X-X-X. First 3digits are for subdivison and lot numbers and the last number usually represent apartment number.
so it is normal to have many numbers with "-".

2)No problem. Amazon.jp has English page for international customers so it is okay to write address in English. Amazon people will translate them into Japanese for delivery service.

The address is for the ITOCHU Buildling.
If you're sending it to ITOCHU Corporation, postal code is 107-8077.
(In other words, it will be delivered to ITOCHU only with the postal code.)

If you're sending it to other companies which are in the ITOCHU building (same adress), the postal code is what Dave posted, 107-0061.

Last four digits 2008/4/29 12:59
Are the last four digits required in Japan? Will mail still reach its destination without the last four digits?
