In modern time, Chinese character and Kanji are not always same. Each country has their own simplified form.

@张仲梁
We write your name as 張仲梁
We pronounce your name as "chou chuu(choo) ryou"

@陳庭恩
Original meaning of 陳 is "stating", but we often use the character as "display".
庭 is garden. We use 恩 to mean "favor".
We pronounce your name as "chin tei (tay) on".

@高瑞敏
We pronounce your name as "kou zui bin".

@纪辉耀
I suppose 纪 is紀and 辉is輝. And we don’t have 耀.
Many Japanese may be puzzled seeing characters of your name. I read your name as “ki ki yo”

Please Help Translate This Name for Me. 2010/3/14 05:27
I'm currently enrolled in Japanese 102 in college. There are a few Japanese students in my class and I saw all their names in Kanji. I noticed a particular student only had 3 Kanji letters. I asked him a classmate about this and she thinks he's partially Japanese. The other Japanese students call him something that rhyme with new, but starts with a R so I'm guessing "Rew"?

イ五 This is his last name. It is suppose to be one symbol, but I can't find it.

子龍 His name.

Thank you very much.

伍子龍 2010/3/18 13:44
Well イ五 is probably 伍 which is pronounced as ''go'' in japanese, 子 is ''shi'' and 龍 is ''ryu''

so his name is probably
Shiryu.

my name? 2010/3/27 00:58
I was also wondering what my Chinese name would be like in Japanese (as in the way a Japanese would be named). My Chinese name is 林海鋒 or lin2 hai3 feng1. I know 林 (lin2) is "Hayashi". 海鋒 (hai3feng1) is apparently a very rare name in China and Korea and from what I have been told, very "epic"-sounding. It is 海 (hai3) for "ocean/sea", and 鋒 (feng1) for "the tip/point of a spear".

Thanks!

Japanese pronunciation 2010/4/9 12:29
My name in simplified chinese is 钟欣虹 zhong1 xin1 hong2. in trad, its 鐘欣虹.

my surname 钟/鐘 means time, or more specifically clock.
my name 欣虹 means 'appreciating the rainbow'. (欣赏彩虹/欣賞彩虹) It has its roots in Christianity, with reference to the rainbow after the Noahs ark flood.

I was just pretty curious as to how it would be read in Japanese. Also, i'm a girl, so if there is a feminine pronunciation, i would really appreciate it, as this seems the best website for name translations available.

Thank you very much for your help (in advance!) :)
