COE processing times

My company said it would take about a month, but we're still waiting. Reading the forum, it seems we'll be lucky if we manage to get it by summer :))

I Applyed November 22 2023 in Utsunomiya
and i'm waiting now 140 days for the spouse visa and as i can tell calling them does not help at all because they don't give any information and they know too if you have called before. but in my case it takes probably longer because the first time i got denied and i tried again and at the second run they look more closely.

May I know why they didn't accept the application the first time? And after how long did they inform you that you were rejected?

the reason was insufficient income because i didn't know that i need a specific amount of money on my bank account (i did send after they requestet my account statement but i forgot to translate it so it probably didn't count) that i must show them but this time i got financial support from my Family in Law so i don't think this time it will be the same problem.

i was waiting at the first time about 2 1/2 month and i did appy april 2023

Does the prefecture change how fast the process is? I'm seeing most of these delays with Tokyo applicants. Any Osaka applicants getting delayed?

Tokyo is known to be the slowest (busiest) office, so if another office is in charge of your application it has a chance of being processed faster (compared to tokyo).
In any case, delays seem to have globally worsened since last year, when you look at past messages from this thread and immigration website's quarterly report :(

Hi,
My company applied for engineer visa with Osaka immigration on 12th of Jan. Since then I haven't heard anything from the immigration regarding the COE it's almost 3 Months but nothing.

Update:
Phoned Shinagawa office again on Monday and they said they are only just starting to make their way through the December applications (Humanities CoE - not sure if this applies to other categories as well), and said it should be completed/issued by the end of this month. So that�fs over 4 months waiting.
I�fm hoping it definitely comes by the end of this month.

If my application is in the same pile as yours and they keep the same pace it means I can expect mine in June. Man that's rough

Any chance this gets rejected? I was hired last December (I'm on a long term resident visa application) and my employer cant sponsor me work visa since there is this ongoing one we agreed to wait out.
