The following is a suggested half day itinerary for fast paced travellers, combining Tokyo's serene Imperial East Gardens and the lively Ginza shopping district. Slow travelers can extend the schedule to fill an entire day. Alternatively, it can be easily extended with a few additions.

Start at Tokyo Station

Walk back towards Tokyo Station

Check out the shops and restaurants around the trendy Marunouchi District along the way to Tokyo Station.

Tsukiji Outer Market

Although the adjacent wholesale market closed in October 2018, Tsukiji Outer Market continues to attract visitors with its fresh seafood and other products that are sold in the districts many shops and restaurants.


Shiodome is a recently developed skyscraper district, connected with Odaiba by the Yurikamome elevated train. The district is home to the headquarters of Nippon Television and a large variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, theaters, hotels and other attractions.
